ARENA USE RULES

REVISED October 2004

  1. “Arena” as used herein refers to the practice arena, main arena and outdoor trail course.

  2. All riding is at your own risk.  Please examine the arena, course and obstacles before riding.

  3. Arena use is restricted to ECWC members in good standing who have paid the additional yearly arena fee.  Only the person or persons listed on the membership application may use the arena.  You may not bring guests to ride in the arena nor give lessons there.  You may receive a lesson on your own horse from a trainer.  If you wish to have a trainer ride your horse as part of this lesson, the trainer must have a signed release on file with the ECWC secretary in advance of the lesson.

  4. Combination locks will be maintained on the gate of each arena.  The new combination will be issued to current arena members yearly.  It is your responsibility to ensure that the arena is locked when you leave.  You may not share the combination with anyone.  For safety please keep the gate shut while working your horse.

  5. Juniors must be accompanied by an adult at all times while using the arena.  No one may ride bareback or double on the grounds or in the arena.  Horses must be under control at all times; e.g. use of longe line, halter/lead, bridle, etc.  No “liberty” work or exercising is permitted.

  6. There are 2 hitching rails available for your use. No horse may be tied to an arena rail, building, bench, etc.

  7. The arena is available until sunset each day.  Please be considerate of our neighbors and avoid loud noises.  No music or loud noise of any kind is permitted before 8 a.m.

  8. Please report any damage to the arena to the ECWC Grounds Chairman; eg. Downed rails, downed trees, leaking pipes, etc.

  9. Dogs must be leashed and under control at all times.  The ECWC facility is part of Heather Farm Park and many people will be walking or riding through the area including those with dogs.

  10. Horses are not permitted in the patio area.

  11. There is no access to either a phone or restroom facilities other than during a scheduled. Event.  There is water available for your horse at the front of the arena.  Please be sure that the faucet is turned off.

  12. Periodically the grounds are leased to individuals or organizations or closed completely due to City use of the Park.  Please check the club calendar before coming to the arena.

  13. Please carry your membership card with you while utilizing the area.

  14. Anyone violating these rules will be subject to loss of arena privileges for a period determined by the Boad of Directors without refund of membership or arena fees.

  15. Arena closure – Winter closure is November 1 through April 14.  Based on conditions, these dates may be adjusted by the Grounds Chairman with the approval of the President.  Any deviation from these dates will be posted on the website.
