Win the NRCHA Raffle Colt & Drive Away with a Sundowner at the

NRCHA World Championship Snaffle Bit Futurity

Byars, Oklahoma – May 30, 2002 – For nearly twenty years, the annual Raffle Colt drawing has been a part of the National Reined Cow Horse Association’s yearly calendar. Each year a 2-year-old has been donated by the renowned Ward Ranch of Kingsburg, California, and given away during the finals of the NRCHA World Championship Snaffle Bit Futurity.

Several of those raffle horses have gone on to successful show careers. In 2002, the tradition continues but this year, during the finals of the Snaffle Bit Futurity October 6 in Reno, Nevada, not only will one lucky winner receive a new horse, another will “Drive Away with a Sundowner!”

Sundowner Trailers of Coleman, Oklahoma, is the official horse trailer of the National Reined Cow Horse Association, and provides the Snaffle Bit Futurity Champions with a year’s use of a Sundowner Horse Trailer. But, in 2002, it’s not just the exhibitors who have the chance to win! As a part of its corporate partnership with the NRCHA, Sundowner is also giving a 2003 Sundowner Valuelite Diamond Sport horse trailer - valued at over $14,000 – to the winner of a special NRCHA raffle.

Chances on both the raffle colt and the Sundowner trailer sell for $10 each and are available at NRCHA events throughout the summer, as well as from NRCHA members and through the NRCHA office. The Drive Away With a Sundowner promotion will also be a focal point at participating Sundowner dealers throughout the United States, where customers can purchase tickets on the trailer as well.

For the Raffle Colt, once again, the Ward Ranch has donated one of their best 2-year-olds, a buckskin gelding named Plain Good Nic, sired by Just Plain Colonel and out of Bopinic by Reminic.  This gelding has been started and ridden by the Ward Ranch this year and is a full brother to an NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Open finalist.
